Scaling up sustainable polymer synthesis in Reactor-Ready

In this video we speak to Dr Ben Ward and Taylor Young from the School of Chemistry at Cardiff University about their research on polymers.

Their research focuses on sustainable plastics, specifically polyesters, and the Radleys Reactor-Ready plays an integral role in scaling up polymerisations in their lab. The Reactor-Ready lab reactor allows them to synthesise a large amount of polymer that has the same properties as legacy plastics, but are more degradable and recyclable. Synthesis of large volumes of polymer is important for transfer into materials testing, and the Reactor-Ready has made this possible.

Reactor-Ready is designed as a universal reactor work station with a range of easily interchangeable vessels from 100 ml to 5 litres which can be configured to suit the chemistry and scale needed for each project. Easy to use, this one unique framework can replace many, saving money and fumehood space.

Reactor-Ready is ideal for organic chemistry, process development, medicinal chemistry, R&D research, polymer chemistry, academic research, scale up, API manufacture and CRO or contract synthesis.
