Which temperature probe do I need, EKT or Pt1000?

EKT and Pt1000 are optional temperature probes that allow your hotplate to precisely heat your reaction to the target temperature.

EKT (509-88000-00) is a legacy temperature probe which includes a control unit. This is required for magnetic stirrers which do not have built-in control units that interface with modern Pt1000 (509-67910-00) external probes. If your hotplate has a rear port for 5 pins, it requires EKT. If the port has holes for 4 pins, it requires Pt1000. For units delivered after September 2023, Hei-PLATE Mix ‘n’ Heat Core requires EKT, and all other models (Core+, Expert, and Ultimate) require Pt1000.
