What is the maximum temperature I can achieve with Heidolph magnetic stirrers? Hei-PLATE Mix ‘n’ Heat Expert and Ultimate have a maximum set temperature of 350°C. All other Heidolph hotplate have a maximum set temperature of 300°C. The actual max temperature is defined by safety ΔT, which is the value by which measured temperature (either internal hotplate or external probe) is allowed to exceed the setpoint during heating, before the heating process is cancelled and error code E23 is displayed. On Hei-PLATE Mix ‘n’ Heat Expert and Ultimate this can be adjusted to a maximum of 25°C, allowing for maximum displayed temperature of 375°C. On most other hotplate this value is 15°C, allowing for maximum displayed temperature of 315°C. When using Heat-On blocks to heat round bottom flasks of vials, all blocks can be heated to 200°C without damage. Polymer-coated blocks can be heated to 260°C, though prolonged use may lead to coating degradation. Some users use anodised Heat-On blocks up to 350°C, though this leads to discolouration (no impact on performance).
