Can I use vacuum on Mya 4?

Yes, you can use vacuum.


However, please follow the instructions below depending on your needs to avoid solvents entering the reflux or manifold head (as this would damage the head over time).


For purging a reaction and replace air with an inert gas:

As vacuum will only be applied for a couple of seconds, this can be done through the manifold or reflux head. By connecting a 3-way valve to the gas inlet at the back of the head, you will able to switch between vacuum and gas. Please make sure any other positions on the head are closed.


To apply a continuous vacuum to a vessel:

To pull a continuous vacuum, we would recommend either a vessel with a sidearm or a multi neck lid is used, and the vacuum pulled through there.
