Using the Carousel 12 we carried out multiple small scale reactions in batch. This gave reproducible yields in each position which we then combined in order to purify and get excellent yields.

Case Study No: CS1093

The Situation

Carrying out medicinal chemistry on a small scale round bottom flask worked well and gave good yields.  However scaling up 10 fold dramatically decreased yields meaning expensive starting materials was wasted.

The Objective

We did not have the time or resource to optimise the scale up conditions therefore
decided to carry out a number of identical small-scale batch reactions which we know work well, and do these multiple times using a small footprint system as space is premium.

The Results

Using the Carousel 12 we carried out multiple small scale reactions in batch.  This gave reproducible yields in each position which we then combined in order to purify and get excellent yields.  Everyone in the group is using the system for similar multiple small scale batch reactions when scaling up with great success!

The Carousel 12 System arrived and is in service now! It works very well, what a great product! Thanks, Mabs and Radleys, for all your help.Dr Daniel Krahn, University of Oxford
