Supply Chain Manager

This an exciting opportunity for someone to make a real impact by applying strong supply chain management and leadership skills within a growing and dynamic company.

The Role

  • Reporting to the Director of Operations
  • Managing Purchasing and Stores personnel, building high levels of communication, performance evaluation, development and capability
  • Implementing a clearly defined procurement and supply chain strategy
  • Leading the procurement process, successfully delivering cost saving initiatives whilst improving the quality of goods and services received
  • Working with existing and new suppliers to develop, improve and strengthen relationships and supply agreements, ensuring that supply meets the needs of the business
  • Implement a clearly defined inventory management strategy to ensure company sales demands are met
  • Responsible for all shipping and logistics, ensuring that products are shipped safely, securely, cost effectively and ‘on-time’ to our customers
  • Responsible for the quality control of all bought-in, in-house assembled and in-house manufactured products
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, tracking, driving and reporting on all Supply Chain KPI’s

Experience & Qualifications

  • MCIPS qualification or Degree related to supply chain, procurement, logistics, business management or related industry experience
  • Several years’ experience in a supply chain / procurement / logistics role, ideally with some of this time working for a manufacturing / assembly company
  • Good understanding of manufacturing, assembly, transportation and warehousing
  • Experience of managing and developing teams
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills, to understand supply and demand issues and to deliver supply chain KPI’s
  • Experience in supplier relationship management including negotiation, evaluation and supply agreements
  • Fully IT literate with standard Microsoft Office packages, with particular strengths using Microsoft Excel
  • Experience and knowledge of working with MRP and ERP systems
