Scientific Glassblower - Skilled

Skilled Scientific Glassblower, Saffron Walden

Are you a glassblower with experience of a wide variety of glassblowing techniques?

If so, then we want to talk to you. We require additional Scientific Glassblowers to work in our modern production facility in Saffron Walden.

The Role 

This exciting role involves the manufacture of a broad range of scientific glassware. You will be working in our Production team, helping us to give our customers the high quality, innovative glassware products they want, backed up with excellent pre & post-sales support. You’ll need a good mix of technical glassblowing skills. You’ll be reporting to the Production Manager, and working closely with the other Glassblowers.

  • Manufacture of broad range of scientific glassware, from small items to large (with training) 
  • Producing scientific glassware to high quality standards
  • Close communication to ensure that items are manufactured and completed to agreed schedules
  • Developing skills to works towards manufacturing the complete range of Radleys glassware
  • Be prepared to carry out any other general duties if required to ensure the smooth running of the workshop and the company in general.
  • Based in Saffron Walden, Essex. UK

The Person

You’ll need to have following skills & experience:

  • Broad experience of scientific glassblowing, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a scientific glassblowing workshop
  • Ability to work at the bench, or vessels on lathes
  • Able to interpret technical drawings and manufacturing instructions

And have the following qualities

  • Good communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact pleasantly and positively with the Production Team and all staff at Radleys
  • Good time keeping and reliable
  • Enthusiasm and perseverance with a positive ‘can do’ attitude
  • Well organised with a good attention to detail with the ability to maintain high levels of accuracy.
  • Diligent attitude with the determination to see things through to completion
  • Capable of working as part of a team and able to use own initiative when working individually
  • Aptitude to meet challenges that may arise
